Thrac is an unofficial accomodation service that focusses on providing lower hotel rates for participants

The CPA is a non-profit organization that has assisted in HIV/AIDS education and training for the hotel industry in Thailand for over a decade. The CPA can reserve hotel rooms for you at very competitive rates.

Center for Persons and Families Affected by AIDS (CPA)

Workplace discrimination and misunderstanding has created loss of jobs for many persons with HIV/AIDS. This has resulted in a lack of income to maintain sufficient livelihood for major income earners, directly affecting their family and children's well being. With these immediate challenges upon them, 14 persons with HIV/AIDS established the Center for Persons and Families Affected by HIV/AIDS (CPA), to date there are 358 members. The CPA is an independent program that was set up with assistance from the Thailand Business Coalition on AIDS (TBCA) and occupies a modest space in TBCA offices. The CPA facilitates TBCA community fundraising activity donations in 5 areas of treatment: children's education, milk powder, job assistance and training and emergency assistance. Eligibility for assistance isto any persons or families affected by HIV/AIDS. In collaboration with the Wednesday Friends Club (the first HIV/AIDS association in Thailand), bi-monthly meetings are held to update members and the public in advances in medical and clinical care, home care and support. The meetings also offer members the opportunity to meet and share experiences. CPA members work integrally with TBCA's Buddy Project for home visits and public speaking engagements in workplaces throughout Bangkok and the surrounding provinces, as well as full-time telephone counseling.

Accommodation

Hotel accommodation can be arranged through our Thailand Hotel Reservation for the International AIDS Conference (Thrac) that has secured a large number of hotel rooms available in Bangkok 5 – 10 minutes walking distance from the Sky Train or provide a free bus service to Sky Train station. Travel time from hotels to the Conference Center (Muang Thong Thani) may vary from a few minutes to a maximum of 90 minutes. The hotels have been classified into 6 categories based on price range and types. Each category has a minimum and maximum rate based on single/double occupancy (rates are per room, per night, with buffet breakfast and service charge included, but are subject to 7% VAT).

Participants are asked to choose a category of hotel from the list below. Thrac will make every attempt to place participants in the category of their choice and will select the closest hotel available within the price range chosen.

The above mentioned deposit will be charged as a guarantee for your room reservation. Independently of the method of payment, all reservations must be guaranteed by a credit card. The deposit will be deducted from the final hotel bill at the checkout desk upon departure. All incoming requests will be handled once the corresponding deposit has been received.

We urge you to submit your forms early to obtain your preferred accommodation. Thrac is authorized to reserve alternative accommodation in another category according to your instructions on the form, should your preference be unavailable. Reservation requests should be received by Thrac by 10th January, 2004. Requests received after that date will be on an availability basis.
