Vision
As AIDS poses a significant threat to economic resources in Asia, many businesses look for effective solutions to protect their interests. The need for HIV/AIDS prevention in the workplace is eminent, especially in emerging markets where public resources are limited.
Working through the private sector to address social injustice, such as the effect HIV/AIDS has on employees in Asia, has proven to be effective and sustainable. Corporate resources can easily and cost-efficiently be utilized to fight AIDS.
Utilizing corporate resources, such as efficient organizational structures, management and marketing know-how, manpower, funds and community relations, will help to stop the spread of AIDS and to provide employees living with HIV or AIDS a fair chance to benefit from medical and social facilities. Mission
Our mission is to strengthen international business resource capacities to manage HIV and AIDS in the workplace on a local and regional level.
ABC on AIDS aims to enable partners to better achieve their own mission by providing them with facilitating resources, such as best practices, management capacities etc. By facilitating local business responses we hope to:
1) Stop further spread of HIV in the workplace.
2) Ensure non-discriminatory treatment of HIV+ staff.
3) Reduce the macro- and micro-economic impact of HIV and AIDS in Asia. Strategy
We strive to accomplish above mission through the creation of an international business alliance (1) and the development of an information exchange system to share business experiences (2).
1) Network management
Looking for professional software developers partners?
By creating partnerships between NGO's and business both can directly benefit from each other's strategic competences and thus become more successfull in realizing their OWN objectives. We call this strategy "Working Apart Together". Besides, as an united coalition we can exert larger pressure on international bodies and corporations. It is the economies of scale that is interesting to multinationals to work together with a service provider that covers a wider region.
2)Information management
Knowledge is power and why re-inventing the wheel by researching and producing the same data and same reports (that no one has time to read). Through this website, strategic planning meetings, our newsletter and other tools we share what we have learned so that others my benefit from it too. Because AIDS knows no borders.
